Financing for Development - UN-Konferenz zur Entwicklungsfinanzierung 2001

Financing for Development

UN-Conference in 2002

In 2002, for the first time in its history, the United Nations will be staging an International Conference on Financing for Development. Its objective is to find ways out of the permanent financial crisis of the countries in the South. The range of topics on the agenda runs from the future role of official and private capital flows to institutional reforms in the world financial system. The United Nations is thus moving into an area which until now has primarily been dominated by the Bretton Woods Institutions and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
